Why First Frost?

First Frost is inspired by the early weeks of autumn, a season of quiet change and gentle turning inward. As the days grow cooler and the light begins to shift, we’re offered a natural moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect. It’s a time to nurture ourselves through the steady rhythm of yoga, both on and off the mat.

In yoga, we often return to the idea of cycles of movement and stillness, growth and release. The practice ends in shavasana, a pose of rest and letting go, reflecting the natural patterns found in the changing seasons. At First Frost, we honor these transitions with care, despite the season or the happenings of the world. The calm, nourishing qualities of early autumn are woven throughout each class, offering space to slow down, listen inward, and simply be.
